The electricity supply in the neighborhood is very stable. Electricity had goes off for long.
VEHICLE
The state of the vehicle was not the best in upon arrival and a specialist was consulted who checked and the important repairs were carried though he pointed out that the radiator wasn’t the original radiator of the car but could carry the engine for now hence two fans have been adapted instead of one that the Vehicle comes with. ACTIVITIES CARRIED OUT AT PRIDE PADS NGAOUNDERE
- BEADING: Students are getting themselves acquainted in the craft work of beading. They are learning how to produce necklaces, earrings, bracelets, anklets, slippers and sandals. A lot are coming to inquire what it takes to enroll and learn a trade which will empower them.
- Getting familiarized with the Fulani population and trying to educate them on the need for a woman to be empowered. I use the slogan “when you educate one woman you educate the Community”. When they are fully educated they will now propagate the information in their various gatherings.
- I visited their small ethnic groupings and educate them on menstrual hygiene and the importance of using biodegradable sanitary napkins. Encouraging them to leave the old methods of using pieces of cloths telling them how harmful it can be to their health. More so, telling them to try and learn a trade like beading which fits so well with their way of life here and can go a long way to empower them and make them productive and self-sustaining with their girl children.
