International Women’s Day 2024
Every year on the 8th of March, we celebrate International Women’s Day to recognize the social, cultural, and political achievements of women around the world. It also serves as a reminder of the work yet to be done to address systemic barriers and discrimination women face.
This International Women’s Day, join us in recognizing PridePads’s women-led team! Three of our four co-founders are women, as are eight of our ten current Board Members and Executive Director.
Our team in Cameroon is led by Madame Jaika Kongnyuy, a retired physical education teacher who has championed girls’ education. Of our eleven employees in Cameroon, eight are women. We are grateful to our team for standing with all women and supporting young girls to be the next generation of leaders!
“It is clear that if you educate a girl, then you have educated the whole nation because she will in turn educate her children, and so on and so forth.” -Madame Jaika Kongnyuy, PridePads Africa Operations Manager
PridePads Africa champions women every day of the year. We strive to end menstrual stigma and create a world in which girls are educated at the same rate as boys.
This International Women’s Day, consider donating to PridePads Africa to keep girls in school while on their periods. For just $24, you can ensure a girl student has a year’s supply of menstrual pads.
